The Top 10+ Books All Marketers Should Own

December 14th, 2009

This is a subjective look at what I feel are the top 10+ books that all marketers should have on their bookshelf. I added the plus because I couldn’t decide between the two books I feel are the best, so both were included as 1a and 1b.

There are many books that could have made my top 10 and I struggled to eliminate them. Books by Ted Nicholas, Joe Sugarman, and Dan Aierly come to mind.

It was hard…but I picked the books that really influenced me the most.

Finally, before I reveal the list, let me know which books would be on your list. I’d love to find out what works have influenced and inspired you. Please feel free to share.

Here is my top 10 in descending order:

10. Positioning: The Battle For Your Mind – Al Reis & Jack Trout
9. Scientific Advertising – Claude Hopkins
8. The Irresistible Offer – Mark Joyner
7. Ogilvy On Advertising – David Ogilvy
6. The Boron Letters – Gary Halbert
5. The No B.S. Guide to Direct Marketing – Dan Kennedy
4. Tested Advertising Methods – John Caples
3. The Mr. X Book – Jay Abraham
2. The Ultimate Marketing Plan – Dan Kennedy
1b. The 12-Month Millionaire – Vincent James
1a. Getting All You Can Out Of All You’ve Got – Jay Abraham
